In May, more than 30 of us attended the Golden State Roundup. Our club
caller John Sybalsky called in the Challenge hall, and Bill van Melle
called both Advanced and Challenge. John Flora and Dolores Ferrero were
the Round Dance Chairmen, and Jim Davis was once again the MC for the
Grand March.
In June, Jim Davis, Joe Dehn, Mary Gingell, Pat Ho, Sue Lietz-Davis, Bill Hoover, Dodie Hoover, Jan Hoover, Ray Olszewski, and Bill van Melle attended the Academy for Advanced and Challenge Enthusiasts (AACE) in Milwaukee. Back in Palo Alto, we had substitute callers two Sundays when John was unavailable to call -- first Joe Dehn, then Rob French. Also in June, we started having a Challenge Concepts Workshop each week before our regular dance session. These sessions, which are being led by Joe Dehn and Bill van Melle, are not a class, but rather an introduction/review of concepts from various Challenge levels, intended for dancers who currently dance Advanced or higher. |
