In April, many of us attended the California state convention in Sacramento. Jim and Sue Davis served as Grand Prize chairmen, Bill van Melle called in the Advanced and Challenge halls, and John Flora cued rounds. That Sunday evening those of us who weren't tired out from the dancing and the drive met as usual in Palo Alto, with substitute caller Scot Byars. When it came time for the C-1 star tip we discovered we were short of two squares -- so we experimented with dancing various C-1 calls in a hexagon! The following Sunday was the graduation party for our beginner class that started last October. Congratulations to all who completed the class! With the class over we are back on our normal schedule of full APD Plus from 7pm to 9pm, with star tips starting at 9pm.
