During July, while our club caller John Sybalsky was out of town, Scot Byars and Eric Henerlau came to call for us. Our 29 July afternoon Challenge Dance with Vic Ceder was a great success -- we had five squares for C-1, with three squares staying for the C-2 star tip. On Sunday 6 August we danced at the Santa Clara County Youth Fair. John Sybalsky was the main caller for the evening. Dana Mirsalis also called two tips, and Joe Dehn was organizer of all the square dancing at the Fair that weekend on behalf of SCVSDA. We hope to see you all at our annual "Challenging Plus Hoedown", Saturday 23 September at St. Andrews Church in Palo Alto. As in the past, this hoedown will feature a full 2 1/2 hours of challenging Plus tips, followed by star tips for as many levels as there are dancers to make a square! Rounds, too! John Sybalsky will be calling, with John Flora cuing the rounds. Meanwhile, many Quads are busy working on the 50th Jubilee. Jim and Sue Davis are the General Chair. Joe Dehn is Marketing Chair, Mary Gingell is Program Chair, and Julia and Michelle La Chance are planning the Youth program. See you in San Jose in October!
