With our club caller John Sybalsky out of town every Sunday in July, we had quite a variety of substitute callers! Two nights we had Scot Byars, one of those nights calling along with Hunter Keller, one night Robert Algea, and one night we had the "Belle Swingers Trio" of Joe Dehn, Mary Gingell, and Bill van Melle. Meanwhile Joe and Bill continued to lead our concepts workshop for Advanced and Challenge dancers -- as of mid-August, they had introduced the group to about twenty concepts selected from C-1 to C-4.

The Santa Clara County Youth Fair was held in August, and Joe Dehn arranged a square dance information booth for the weekend and called a demo session there that Sunday; Mary Gingell also participated in this demo.

Later in August, Jim Davis, Joe Dehn, Mary Gingell, Pat Ho, Sue Lietz-Davis, and Bill van Melle attended the Vic Ceder C-3A week at McCloud Dance Country.

Coming up 27 September in Palo Alto is our annual "Challenging Plus Hoedown", featuring two and a half hours of APD Plus followed by an hour of Advanced and Challenge star tips -- rounds too!

Our next class will start with two free intro nights 19 and 26 October. This class emphasizes APD from the very start, so while it is suitable for complete beginners it may also be of interest to current Mainstream and Plus dancers who want to learn APD Plus.
