Stanford Quads "Club Chatter"

(Originally written for publication in The Prompter.)

In early July while our club caller John Sybalsky was out of town for two weeks, we enjoyed the calling of Don Benson. (And he claims to have enjoyed calling for us!)

During the last week of July, Quads members Joe Dehn, Danielle Kosiorek, Michelle LaChance, Jim Davis, and Mary Gingell helped out at a youth square dance day camp put on by Yellow Rock and Rollers and co-sponsored by Sunnyvale Singles, where eleven students had the opportunity to learn Mainstream (and even a few Plus calls) in five days. The camp concluded with a party at the home of Jim Davis and Sue Lietz-Davis.

The following Saturday was the SCVSDA Whing Ding where John Sybalsky called both a Plus tip and the Advanced star tip.

Many of us attended the Santa Clara County Fair. Our new graduates danced quite well. And it was reported that we had the second-highest attendance of any club! John Sybalsky was a featured caller on Sunday evening, our club cuer John Flora cued the rounds on both Friday and Sunday, and five of our youth dancers participated in the special youth session on Saturday.

Our fall class will begin with three free intro nights -- 10, 17, and 24 October, 7-9pm at Fairmeadow School in Palo Alto. Singles, couples, families, teens welcome -- no partner required, of course.

Hope to see you at our annual hoedown on Saturday, 25 September, at John Muir Middle School in San Jose.
